Job Description
Our client provides FX trading technology to banks, brokers, and financial institutions. Our hosted deployments use dedicated server infrastructure, Linux-based environments, and financial data center connectivity, including deployments in Equinix facilities. The role will involve working with internal teams, outsourced hosting providers, data center providers, connectivity partners, and other vendors to support reliable, secure, and scalable hosted environments for their clients.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong experience with Linux systems, physical server infrastructure, data center operations, networking, monitoring, security, vendor coordination, and production support.
Responsibilities
- Help design, manage, and improve client’s hosted infrastructure model.
- Support production infrastructure in financial data centers, including Equinix and similar facilities.
- Work with outsourced hosting and infrastructure providers to coordinate implementation, maintenance, monitoring, support, and issue resolution.
- Specify, procure, configure, and manage enterprise server infrastructure.
- Build and maintain Linux-based production, QA, UAT, and disaster recovery environments.
- Coordinate data center activities, including rack space, power, cabling, remote hands, equipment installation, and asset inventory.
- Coordinate cross-connects and network connectivity to clients, liquidity providers, venues, and other counterparties.
- Manage or oversee switches, firewalls, routing, VPNs, private connectivity, monitoring, alerting, backups, and failover.
- Develop reliable processes for provisioning, patching, change control, incident response, documentation, and infrastructure support.
- Work with engineering, support, implementation, security, and client-facing teams to support new and existing hosted clients.
- Manage relationships with data center providers, hosting providers, hardware vendors, network providers, and other infrastructure partners.
- Support client due diligence, security reviews, audits, and infrastructure questionnaires.
Required Experience
- Experience with electronic trading (preferably FX), market data, exchange connectivity, or low-latency financial systems.
- Senior-level infrastructure experience in a financial technology, trading, banking, SaaS, or other mission-critical production environment.
- Strong hands-on Linux administration experience.
- Practical experience with enterprise server infrastructure, colocation facilities, and data center networking.
- Strong understanding of high-availability production environments, monitoring, security, incident response, and operational controls.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure, network, latency, connectivity, and production issues.
- Strong documentation, communication, project-management, and vendor-management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a small, fast-moving company.
