Job Description
Our client is looking for a full time SDLC DevOps & Monitoring Support Analyst with 3+ years to join their global SRE Monitoring Team. The team is the custodian of the client’s Monitoring framework and is responsible to help administer and support the production environment.
THE DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will be part of the US based Monitoring team and will be responsible for providing support for monitoring tools. You will work closely with peers in other regions as well as with Engineering teams to facilitate the strategic objectives of the team.
Responsibilities require dealing with off-the-shelf and home grown solutions. The tools used include Splunk, RiverMuse, SMARTS, SevOne, ThousandEyes, EverBridge, Grafana, Loki, Cortex – knowledge of monitoring tools/domain is a must.
You should be familiar with industry standards and best practices for managing releases / changes / incidents and requests. You will leverage skills and production support experience to find solutions to problems without causing any impact to production.
The client prefers a candidate who can be innovative, find opportunities to improvise via process improvement or automation, and is self-motivated and motivates others to drive change.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE (IN PRECEDENCE ORDER):
- 3+ years with Monitoring tools/technologies (in an administrative capacity) for a medium/large scale enterprise infrastructure.
- End-to-end instrumentation of monitoring for various teams, configuring alerts, event correlation / de-duplication criteria etc.
- Team lead experience is an advantage.
- Good to Have - DevOps tools (at least some). Preferably – GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, Nexus etc.
- Have supported medium/large scale production environments.
- Solid hand-on Linux experience – troubleshooting skills and basic-intermediate administrative concepts.
- Sound knowledge of ITIL
- Database Platforms – Sybase, MySQL, MSSQL – general RDBMS concepts,
- SQL - basic knowledge/ familiarity
- Infrastructure technologies - Middleware (ActiveMQ, Solace, EMS, Tibco), Web Servers, Load balancers, Directory Services
OTHER DESIRABLE DEVELOPMENT SKILLS :
- Shell Scripting
- Python / Ruby
- JSON/XML
- UsE OF APIs
ENVIRONMENT TOOLS (DESIRABLE):
- Any Cloud Service Platform (preferably AWS)
- Monitoring Tools – Splunk, Grafana, Loki, Cortex, SMARTS, ThousandEyes etc.
- Source code control platforms -Git
- Continuous integration - Jenkins
- Collaboration tools - Confluence, JIRA
- Configuration/Deployment tools - Ansible / Puppet
